With new technology emerging everyday, it is no surprise that social media platforms are taking advantage to improve platforms. Pinterest is introducing a new technology on their platform that will identify different body types in over 5 billion image's. This body shape and size technology partners with an already skin tone technology to ensure representation of all kinds. In another effort to improve their platform, Pinterest is updating their privacy features in hopes of better protection of privacy for their users. In addition, for Pinterest users 16 and older, they now have an option of keeping their profile private or going public, while anyone younger will have a private account by default. Users will also have more control on who can follow them and who can't with being able to remove followers if wanted. Messaging and groupboards will be accessible to everyone while children under 16 will have to use a link to get approval of others to message them. Lastly, parents will be able to protect their child's settings with a parental passcode they can only access.
